Located on the northern edge of Geirangerfjord in the beautiful setting of Bjorli, an hour-and-a-half drive up the mountains from Molde in the Møre and Romsdal region, the Ice Lodge nestles amongst the snow-clad trees on the banks of the Rauma River. The name "Bjorli" has existed for over a thousand years - "Bjor" means "beaver" and "Li" means "hill" and was so named as beaver once populated this area of the mountains in great numbers.
The Bjorli Ice Lodge combines its unique experience with the spectacular surroundings of some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the world. It nestles like an alpine jewel amongst the snow-clad trees close to the River Rauma whose meandering banks have been carved by centuries of clean, crystal clear water flowing through the mountains
You will spend the night in one of the spacious Ice Suites, each with its own amazing spectacle of shimmering, glistening surfaces accentuated by various hues of beautiful light and uniquely created ice art. The Ice Bar offers warm hospitality and is a great place to join with your fellow guests and adventurers for a nightcap!
The Gamma (a traditional Norwegian circular wooden hut with a central wood fire), set amongst the alpine trees, is a good meeting point to enjoy the ambient lighting of its candles and cosy fire and many a tale will be exchanged over a hot drink after a busy day's adventure.
